Utah Fee Increases in Effect

A law now in effect in Utah has raised the cost of commissioning fees, apostilles and other Notary-related costs.
House Bill 301, which became law July 1, 2005, increased the price of applying for a Notary commission from $20 to $30.
The new law also increased the cost of obtaining a Notary certification from the Lieutenant Governor from $10 to $15 as well as raising the price of an "apostille" (an authentication of a Notary's commission on a document sent to another country) from $5 to $10. Lastly, the law will raise the fee to obtain a duplicate commissioning certificate to $10.
