WHY DO DOCUMENTS INTENDED FOR RUSSIA NEED SPECIAL PREPARATION?
Russian Federation is a party to the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents. The documents must be legalized by Apostilles.
Seems easy? Well, it isn't. All documents are not created equal. Some documents must be originals. Others must be submitted in certified copies. Not all documents can be notarized. Some documents must be authenticated by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in the U.S.
